Hi, my name is Hailey Rankin, and I am the Director of Operations at AW Concierge. I am based in Dallas, TX where our team handles various services for all types of clients. I am excited to share a “Day in the Life” of an AW Concierge with my team, here in Dallas!
When I Start My Day
For me, typical day always starts with coffee or tea. I perform best and am my sharpest when I have had an iced latte in the AM. Some of my go-to orders right now include Manhattan Project Beer Co.’s Tres Leches Latte, Houndstooth’s Iced Vanilla Latte (half sweet), or Late Riser Coffee’s BBL Matcha (Blueberry Basil Latte).
Work Day
Next up, I check emails and make some calls. It is important to me that I have an ongoing checklist of outstanding projects for my clients so I stay organized and proactive. This can look like ringing the designer or general contractor to get a status update on a construction project on my client’s home.
I prefer to knock-out any outstanding errands in the morning. This way, I have the rest of the day for home checks and follow-up errands where necessary. I spend a lot of time at FedEx and USPS, department stores, grocery stores, and florists to ensure my client’s needs are met on a daily basis.
After lunch, I will meet my team at our current project location. Whether it is cataloguing and inventory of storage items, arranging consignment for unwanted fixtures, or arranging cleaning services for home showings, we work together to get the job done in a timely manner.
After walking through our 30-point checklist, I will send a daily email update to any clients who have requested it and schedule any vendors needed. This can include cleaning services, handymen, gardeners, caterers, and the like. In my update, I highlight key players, project status updates, and blockers we will address the next day. I will always outline any blockers with a plan to tackle it!
Finishing Up the Day
Lastly, I make my to-do list for the next day. Staying ahead of the game is most important. As a professional concierge, I do not just show up, but I show up prepared.
My goal is to provide the best full-service experience to our clients in Dallas, TX, and our whole team shares that goal. Working for AW Concierge ensures every day is different, and I love it!
