We have three primary steps to choosing the right vendors for our Dallas Property Concierge clients. References, past projects and applications, and finally, cost, all play a huge part in our decision-making process for vendor selection. AW Concierge has a extensive rolodex of vendor partners in order to make sure each client has the appropriate, dedicated service they deserve.
Past Projects and Applications
First, view the vendor’s photo gallery, online reviews, social media, and ask directly for examples of past work. Much like finding a hairstylist that has experience doing the haircut you want, it is beneficial to match the quality of work of a vendor to that which fits your project. For example, if you are looking for a tiling expert for a bathroom renovation, see if they can achieve the specific pattern you want in your shower surround.
Don’t forget: Online search will turn up all kinds of information, including what advertisers want you to see.
References
Once you have completed the “Googling” stage of your search, you may have 3-5 vendors you found online or from referral that will be able to complete your project. Costs aside, how should you rate these vendors to find the best fit?
Asking a vendor for a reference from a past client that fits your personal project needs will give you an idea of how the vendor communicates, upholds client relationships, and how reliable they are.
If a vendor cannot provide references, they may not be the best fit for your project.
Cost
Perhaps the most obvious factor is pricing and cost. However, every need requires a different level of experience, urgency, and finished product. Higher cost does not equal better work – this is why the first two steps to choosing a vendor are so important. By the time you request a quote, you already know the work will be above par.
